Kenya leads in mobile money

Today 1st June 2012 Kenya marks its 49th year since it gained freedom. The country has been faced by many challenges and threats down the line but we have achieved a lot as well.
In the past few years, Kenya has experienced tremendous growth in ICT and its infrastructure. We now have better roads, easy access to information, improved roads and even better governance.
In terms of ICT, Kenya has been connected to the rest of the world through fiber options giving us faster access and connection to the world. Recently, Kenya has also experienced a lot through mobile technology.

We’ve being the world’s leading country transacting billions of shillings through mobile phones. To be exact, Kenyans are currently transacting upto 8 billion shillings daily! With mobile money services, we’re now able to pay utility bills, buy goods, send/transfer money from one account to another through our mobile phones. These services are easily reachable to all Kenyans as our service providers and banks have fully embraced this technology.
The entry of smart phones in the country, will also allow penetration of more amazing services. Therefore, a lot more is expected in the mobile industry in the future. May God continue to bless our country.
