Responsive Web Design – Part I

Posted by

I believe most of us know that websites don’t load the same on different screen sizes. Need to have mobile websites is rising due to the rising dependability on mobile technologies such as smartphones, iPhones, and tablets.
In the past, developers have had to do two or more versions of the same website to reach both mobile and desktop users. However, emerging responsive design technology will be a relief to developers as they’ll be able to achieve the purpose by only building one website that will be compatible with different screen sizes.
So, what is responsive web design? This is a web design approach aimed at crafting sites to provide an optimal viewing experience across a wide range of devices (from desktop computer monitors to mobile phones). One website optimized for easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling.
Responsive web designs uses CSS3 media queries to adapt the layout to the viewing environment along with fluid proportion-based grids and flexible images.
We’re going to look at what to consider before choosing to use responsive web design in part II.
